Sales Director


TYPE: Remote, Full-Time 


Founded by two Eagle Scout brothers who got tired of instant coffee while camping, Kuju Coffee is a pour over coffee brand on a mission to provide incredible coffee experiences that inspire people to Be Recreated. On that camping trip, brothers Jeff & Justin found themselves surrounded by the most beautiful scenery - sweeping sunrises, golden mesas, and awe-inspiring constellations, but their coffee didn’t match up. So they set out on a journey to find a better way and created the Pocket PourOver®️ – the original single-serve pour over in the US.  Today, Kuju can be found in retailers nationwide such as REI, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Bass Pro Shops, Amazon, and www.kujucoffee.com




  • Coordinate with the CEO to increase sales year over year and support national and regional accounts across Kuju’s unique channel mix (Natural/Grocery, Outdoor, Gift)
  • Help develop and support retail channel strategy that balances growth with brand development, managing existing account relationships as well as prospecting for new customers
  • Manage and analyze velocity, sales data, and new venture insights and trends to identify ideal account growth pathways
  • Lead go to market plans and increase per-store sales velocity by designing appropriate promo plans for each customer and developing unique trial and discovery opportunities for each account
  • Successfully launch additional facings, product lines, and displays at all accounts (REI, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Academy Sports, Bass Pro, etc.)
  • Manage distributors to ensure appropriate inventory levels and service to our customers, while identifying and growing distributor network as needed per channel
  • Manage brokers and third party sales reps in grocery and outdoor channels as needed
  • Coordinate with marketing to drive targeted trial & discovery campaigns in the highest ROI markets


  • 7+ years of sales experience in the natural and grocery channel, selling packaged goods products at a national level (ideally in coffee)
  • Strategic sales leader driven by analytics and data (i.e. retailer/distributor reports, etc.) when making decisions and presenting to key customers
  • Ability to manage longer term business development cycles and maintain a growth narrative with potential accounts and partners over time
  • Possesses relationships with key account buyers (Whole Foods, Sprouts, regional chains, etc.) – ideally in the coffee category
  • Ability to manage multiple sales channels each with a unique set of processes, industry norms, and sales timelines and cadences
  • Experience working for a start-up / small company; ability to drive results with a full ownership mentality
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs; detail oriented
