Craft Coffee in Two Minutes

How To Brew

With just a little hot water, you can brew a full cup of high-quality coffee. Rip, anchor, pour, and enjoy!

STEP 1

Open the Packet + Filter

Tear open the single-serve packet to reveal the filter, then tear along the top of the filter where indicated. Inside is specialty-grade, pre-measured coffee — ready to brew.

STEP 2

Anchor the Filter

Pull out the filter’s side anchors and hook them over the edges of your mug. It should sit securely, ready for brewing.

STEP 3

Pour Hot Water

Slowly pour hot water into the filter, letting it drip through. Repeat until your cup is filled — it brews about 8–12 oz depending on how strong you like your coffee.

STEP 4

Sip + Enjoy Anywhere

Remove and compost the filter. Now enjoy your freshly brewed Kuju Coffee — wherever the day takes you.

Love this coffee but disappointed in packaging

Perfect coffee for camping! I drank this every morning on my month long road trip to all the national parks and I loved it!!It is a little pricey (understandable) but the packaging isn’t always great and more than once I’ve pulled a pouch out that is ripped already and it ends up being tossed bc there’s no way to make the coffee without having grounds in every sip.

Fantastic coffee for camping or at home!

I bought a big pack to bring for a camping trip this month. My friends and I are all avid coffee drinkers and we had been searching for a good coffee to bring on trips. I first came across Kuju when I was browsing REI and the associate had recommended it as one of their hit coffee products. I bought a single pour-over to try it and WOW - it was a game changer. Immediately, I searched for Kuju online and found the big pack on Amazon. Not only is the coffee super easy to use (just slip it over a mug and pour water), the quality was also amazing, extremely smooth and had fantastic flavors. All my friends on the trip couldn't get enough of it and it was something we looked forward to each morning! We didn't end up using the entire pack on our trip so I brought it home and have been drinking Kuju coffee every morning despite a coffee shop being right around the corner. The pour overs are super affordable, convenient and best of all tasty!10/10 would recommend! Looking forward to trying the other blends that Kuju offers :)

Barista Quality On-The-Go

Kuju is bold in trying to be innovative / disrupt the space especially when coffee is a commoditized product that you find everywhere you go. As a frequent traveler (business and leisure), I love throwing a few of these specialty-grade, single-serve packets into my suit case. As an individual always on the hunt for new products that help make life easier / better, Kuju coffee strikes the intersection of quality, ease, and convenience. Below is some additional food for thought:- Packaging: I was afraid the pouch might break with the back and forth of everything in my suitcase. I’m glad to say that so far the quality of the packaging has been rock solid and has preserved the freshness Kuju promises- Making a cup of Joe: The pour over apparatus easily slips on and hugs the edges of any basic cup / mug you already have. As you pour hot water over the coffee grounds, the mechanism simply works and is more time efficient than I anticipated. Within a minute or two, you’ve got yourself a quality cup of Joe that you'd find at your eclectic coffee shop around the block; thank god the days of burnt, watered-down coffee no longer need to exist (hint hint - hotel rooms)All in all, this is a versatile product for today's times; it’s one that I use even with the hustle and bustle of traveling as well as one that delivers joy when I’m soaking in the sun on a Saturday morning hike.

If I received it I would probably give you a better rating. But I still haven’t received my order from Sept 1st and no one has responded to my emails.

I’ve never been a fan of instant coffee. Discovered this at REI and used it on a recent backpacking trip in the wind River range. Absolutely loved the base camp coffee!

If you are a machine person, regardless of roast, you will find these strong in pour over but they are what the doctor ordered if you are in the field or at a convention. French roast folks will find them medium. Easy to drink and low acid means you can grab that pint glass and two packs and be happy for hours.

Delicious and super convenient

We use these products when camping all the time. They produce excellent coffee and a comfort of home when “roughing it”

Tastes great!

I love this coffee. It tastes fresh, strong but not too strong, and it has wonderful complex flavors.

Good coffee, bag system is flawed, much better than instant. Not good in wind or with thick mugs.

Neato Torpedo, but testing at home, the teabag does not stay well on a thicker ceramic mug, sunk a few bags. Wouldn't want to be brewing this on Denali. Needs some reengineering. Only enough Joes for one good strong 8 OZ Cup IMO 12 would be pushing it. Would work better in a thin metal cup or maybe something silicone????? No bueno having a slip and slide sitch on the AT Or PCT or even an ultralight overnight. I would soooo cry if I ruined my only coffee before the AM BM.

Best pour over coffee brand!

My new favorite camping coffee!

Was skeptical of these coffee bags at first, but I was pleasantly surprised! Easy to use, and a pretty good cup of coffee, the only thing that was slightly annoying was how small the opening was to pour the water to brew.

The taste is amazing!

The taste and strength of the coffee is delicious! My husband and I went to the Getaway cabins and they had these in the cabin. This was some of the best tasting and convenient coffee we had in a long time. It was so good I had to buy some for my home.

Perfect for camping

We took these car camping and they worked perfectly. Tasted better than instant coffee, but not something I would drink every day. Definitely buying them again for our next trip.

Surprisingly good coffee—would only use for camping.

I know that everything tastes better when you’re camping, but I was surprised by this coffee. Even though it’s pre-ground stuff from a package, it was shockingly good coffee. Smells amazing, and tastes just as good. Yes, I do wish the pouch was bigger so you didn’t have to sit there and pour tablespoons of hot water into it, but that’s a convenience you sacrifice when you camp. I’ll get these again every time we go camping or are on the road, but I wouldn’t buy them for any other reason.

My new camp coffee!

Great flavor! I drink my good coffee black & this coffee is amazing. Boiled some water as soon as it arrived, definitely going to enjoy this when camping! No more cowboy coffee grinds at the bottom of the cup. As with a drip coffee from a café, the water takes a minute or 2 to fill up your cup, but boy was it worth it. Will be buying more medium roast Basecamp blend! Considering the individualy wrapped, unique pour-over filter design and the quality of coffee; i would say the price is fair* considering the objective purpose: a quality, single-serve coffee packet for when you're not at home.*if giant coffee corporations paid a fair wage for their product, we wouldn't be having this price comparison. My parents raised me to be aware of where my money's going and who's doing what with it... Unfortunately this systemic disparity makes me acknowledge that in today's economy this is truly a luxury cup of coffee resulting in 4 of 5 stars for price.Still highly recommended for THOSE days (camping, power outage, emergency preps, bug out bag coffee, or just for a local prehike coffee)...

The next best thing to freshly ground

I was just looking for "camp coffee" last year before the pandemic hit, and this was one of the top rated products. One time use drip coffee in a sealed bag? Interesting. I found the same product at a local grocery, tried it out, and I was impressed. Amazing flavor, super convenient, and less waste than the K cups. Win. I got a different roast at Amazon in a bigger box, and that was the best drip coffee I've ever had.I don't know if this will keep very well as it's ground coffee, but it should work in an emergency.

Great alternative when you can’t brew your own, but comes at a cost.

Bottom line up front: I’m a fan and I’ll be ordering this again.I’ve been looking for something like this forever. In Asia Starbucks offers a similar single cup pourover prouduct called Origami but I haven’t been able to find it in the US. I’ve tried everyhing from instant coffee to Starbucks Via but nothing really comes close to the real thing. I resigned myself to bringing a small french press with me when I travel, until I found Kuju.Pros: freshness, flavor, design, volume per cupoThe quality and freshness are great and the design makes it very easy to use. I actually prefer the design of Kuju over the Starbucks Oragami pour over for two reasons. The first is the way it sits on top of the glass. It fits my wide or narrow mouth glasses equally well and fits snugly onto the glass. The second is that the filter pouch is sealed with a perferated tear-off edge. The Starbucks design kind of pops open all at once so I ended up spilling grounds while trying to set up the filter to sit on top of the glass.I really enjoy the taste. I ordered a medium roast and it was well balanced and fit the taste profile. The instructions say to use 8 oz per pour. I’m a big coffee drinker and 8 oz doesn’t cut it for me. Due to the cost per cup, I’ve been reluctant to use multiple packages and just started using more water per pour. I like strong coffee and the boldness of the coffee was sufficient to deliver enough taste despite me using more than the recommended amount of water per cup.Cons: costAt just over $2 per cup, it’s a little more than I preferred to spend. Granted, I’m not using this daily and it’s really for when I don’t have my regular options. That said, I like to drink about 2 cups per day and I cringe a little knowing how much it’s costing me. Again, exception not the norm.

Tired of instant coffee on campouts - try Kuju!!!

So I bought this for a Cubscouts camping trip I will be taking soon with my youngest son. I had been following this brand through Backcountry (another store). I was elated to see Amazon carry this brand. The reviews from Backcountry and Amazon are true. This coffee is amazing! For the sake of placing a review, I made a cup by using my keurig. The instructions are super simple. The tabs worked on my “to go” cup.....tear open the pouch....and pour in your hot water. I let my coffee set a little bit...though I don’t think you need to.Flavor wise - this stuff is amazing. I purchased the Basecamp Blend. I truly believe you can taste each flavor: oak, chocolate, and honey. I usually use a creamer or two....not on this one. As a litmus test....I had my son try....and he loved it.We look forward to our camping trip.....and look forward to having a cup of Kuju coffee!I highly recommend!!!

Great Cup of Coffee

I have four ways to make coffee at my house: a K cup machine, a glass pour over carafe, an electric brewer with glass carafe and an electric kettle to boil water. We drink a lot of coffee! My new favorite is the Kuju pour over bags. I’m really surprised at how good the flavor is. I’ve tried both the Base Camp and Papua New Guinea and both are smooth and rich. I admit they are more expensive than K cups, but totally worth it.

Only coffee I will take backpacking

Tried this coffee for the first time for a backpacking trip & was very pleased. I looked forward to it each morning, flavor is good, SO much better than instant, well worth the price. I do not like weak or watery coffee, I brewed mine with approximately 10oz of water & liked that ratio, good flavor. It doesn’t pack down quite as small as the instant coffee “sticks” but still small enough & light enough. Also the company is one of the best I have dealt with on Amazon. I had to contact them & they promptly got back to me with a friendly, personal resolution, they went above & beyond to make sure my issue was taken care of. They are also socially & environmentally responsible (using wind energy, 1% for the planet, & employing a vulnerable population). So many reasons to like this coffee. It’s the only thing I will take backpacking from now on.

GREAT STUFF and here's a rundown on its competition

I've now tried competing single-portion pour-over coffees from Copper Cow, Tribo, Twin Peaks, Kuju, and Casa (sold in local retail). Comparison follows.Kuju "Basecamp blend - Medium Roast" is at or near the top for sheer coffee flavor. I often drink coffees with milk, but some have such beautiful balance and complexity that the flavor seems wasted (blunted) by milk; those go particularly well with or after food. Kuju is one, surpassing my former #1 "good black" brand (Tribo "Guatamalan"). Both are expensive at $2 per serving in 10-packs (Tribo recently increased from $1.60; Copper Cow is even pricier, but includes condensed-milk packet for the Vietnamese serving style.)Tribo, another top-quality brand, sells several regional and blend coffees in pour-over format; trying a few assortments led to preferring Tribo's Guatamalan just mentioned. Another complex floral medium roast, "good black."

B07GD1XJSN Tribo Guatamalan Coffee Pouches

Copper Cow has slightly longer Amazon history than Kuju and, like Kuju, is promoted to outdoor enthusiasts (the Backpacker's Pantry camping-food firm sells Copper Cow in ruggedized 2-serving packs). At $3 per serving it's a "luxury" brand; it's also a unique experience with the intense savory Vietnamese-grown coffee and the included condensed-milk ration. Full review: https://www.amazon.com/review/R3EBS22BEXFCBXTwin Peaks, like Tribo, markets several differently-sourced pour-over coffees and is my everyday, value brand for this genre at 60 cents a portion in 10-packs. After trying several of its varieties I prefer Costa Rican and Colombian. (Sometimes black, sometimes w/milk.)

B0777RWW96 Twin Peaks Costa Rican Coffee Pouches

Casa (bought at local "Ranch 99" Chinese-themed supermarket; like many of these products it's assembled in Taiwan, apparently the center for pour-over pouch manufacturing) also offers different regional coffees. They were inexpensive and not bad; but with the competition above, I'd call it a commodity brand and I haven't re-purchased any.

Neat idea, poor execution

The idea is fantastic. The coffee they use is excellent. However, I won't buy again due to two issues:1 - So far I've had two (out of 8 used) in which the filter got sealed into the edge of the packaging. So, there was no way to remove the product without tearing the filter pouch. Both times this happened at the bottom of the filter, so that package was unusable. At about $2 per, that's not acceptable.2 - The paper arms aren't strong enough. Some cups worked, but with some the arms collapsed and the filter pouch fell into the coffee.Too bad, because when it does work, the coffee is really good.
